Located on the ground floor of an imposing Georgian block, this self catering Edinburgh apartment has its own front door. You definitely won’t feel wanting for space here.
There’s an entrance hall for coats and shoes with a table for keys.
Double doors lead into another hall with a chest of drawers with useful sight-seeing brochures, children’s books and toys.
All the rooms lead off from this hall. Take a right into the drawing room where there’s huge marble fireplace, two large windows with original shutters and silk brocade curtains looking onto the tree-lined, cobbled East Claremont Street. Sink into one of the two comfy sofas or two velvet armchairs and relax after a busy day’s sight-seeing.
Also to the right, but over looking leafy walled gardens at the rear, is the master bedroom with a king size iron bedstead, two French-style armchairs, a large antique chest of drawers and a vintage wardrobe.
The kitchen overlooks gardens to the rear. There’s a dining table which seats six. As we regularly stay in the apartment, it is well stocked with pots and pans, dishes, plates etc.
The very spacious second bedroom, although it overlooks the cobbled street, is set well back from the road, which is at night. The room is furnished with antique style iron bedsteads, a French-style chair, a vintage oak chest of drawers and two built in cupboards.
All the beds have extra thick, feather-filled duvets and bedspreads. All linen including fluffy bath sheet sized towels and hand towels are provided for all four guests.
The bathroom, with tongue and groove lined walls, has a bath with a shower, WC and hand basin.

This Edinburgh self catering apartment is ideally located for walking to parks – there are two close by – George V Park is a couple of minutes away and Barony Park, which is five minutes away is very urban with a herb garden and a great play area with excellent climbing frames and swings. There is also the famous Edinburgh Botanic Gardens no more than 10 minutes away, with acres of lovely walks amongst exotic trees and shrubs. For exercising little ones on a rainy day, we thoroughly recommend Maddie and Marks at Ocean Terminal – an excellent soft play centre with a great cafe and children’s play farm shop, garage and pizzeria. There’s also great shopping and good places to eat.
